Kody Abbott

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Duchesne, Utah, a tiny town where I taught myself to build websites before I had reliable internet. I got a degree in hospitality and became a people manager at 5 star resorts before pivoting entirely, spending the next 15 years in tech. Today, I live in Salt Lake City, hold a Master's in Cybersecurity, and build cloud infrastructure for a living. I hold seven certifications across AWS, Google Cloud, and CompTIA, including the AWS Solutions Architect Professional.

But work is only part of the story.

I started at a help desk and worked my way up, sys admin, cloud engineer, cloud architect, and now I'm a Senior Cloud Engineer. Along the way I spent time at one of the Magnificent 7, worked as a technical account manager, and built infrastructure for state government. My background in PKI, security, and cloud architecture means I think about attack surfaces before most people think about features.

Off the clock, my setup is just as involved. I run a 10G home network and have been deep-diving into agentic AI. I'm fascinated by how agents actually work under the hood, stripping away the hype to see what the tech can actually do.

I also make content about all of it, because I remember what it felt like to have no idea where to start.
